Rapper Drake’s Eight Year Chart Run Is Now Over

drake-sad-ig
For the first time since 2009 Drake doesn’t have a single single on the Billboard Hot 100.
Last week, Drizzy’s ‘Passionfruit’ was No. 81 and ‘Signs’ was at 100. But they both dropped off, ending a 431-week chart streak which began when ”Best I Ever Had’ debuted on May 23, 2009.

Drake’s streak was by far the longest in the history of the Hot 100, which dates back to 1958.
Here the ten longest streaks ever.
431 – Drake
326 – Lil Wayne
216 – Rihanna
207 – Nicki Minaj
161 – Chris Brown
159 – JAY-Z
152 – Nelly
141 – Kenny Chesney
139 – Destiny’s Child
139 – Katy Perry
139 – Taylor Swift
As you can see, the list is modern Hip Hop heavy. That’s because features count in Billboard’s accounting.
Nevertheless, Drake’s is a mighty impressive streak.

Last week, Drizzy promised a new album and a joint project with The Weeknd. So he’ll be starting a new streak pretty soon.
