News- Rapper Jeezy Scores Third No. 1 Album


Jeezy’s Trap Or Die 3 came
in at the No. 1 slot on the coveted Billboard 200, his third album to do so.
The album, released on October 28, sold roughly 89,000 units, which included 73,000 from traditional brick-n-mortar stores.
All of Jeezy’s albums have made top 10 debuts.
“Over the course of a ten-year partnership, we have watched Jeezy grow as an acclaimed artist, entrepreneur and an enduring creative spirit to be reckoned with ,” said Steve Bartels, CEO of Def Jam Recordings in a statement. “I have tremendous respect for his artistry, tenacity and legendary hustle. All of us at Def Jam are proud to stand next to him and celebrate a great team win.”
Jeezy’s album, 2015’s Church in These Streets, sold more units at 107,000 copies sold, but debuted at No. 4.
Country superstar Kenny Chesney’s Cosmic Hallelujah hit the No. 2 slot selling just shy of 89,000 units earned, according to Billboard. He pushed about 79,000 in traditional album sales.
The position of Meek Mill’s DC4 came in the third slot with 87,000 total units moved.
