Drake’s Views leads as the most popular album in mid-year rankings,
with the release earning 2.6 million equivalent album units, a measurement which is comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums, and streaming equivalent albums.
According to Billboard, Views is the second best selling album of the year so far with 1.3 million in traditional album sales, trailing only Adele’s, 25 with 1.4 million sold.
The April release is also one of only three albums to have sold 1 million copies this year, along with25 and Beyonce’s Lemonade.
Views recently saw its top spot on the Billboard 200 snatched away by long time rock group Blink-182, but the project’s departure from the top is expected to be short lived.
Industry forecasters expect Views to jump right back to the top next week, for its tenth nonconsecutive week in the top spot.
Sources say the album could earn as much as 100,000 equivalent album units in the week ending July 14.
